When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Tomorrow is municipal election day in Texas. In Williamson County, polls are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Here’s a quick primer on getting prepared to exercise your right to vote.
Print out your sample ballot ahead of time. Wilco.org has this convenient app on their site that prints out a ballot of the races specific to you based on your address. Check it out here: Williamson County sample ballot.

Last Note on Cedar Park Mayoral Race
We are in for Claudia Chavez. As a homeschooling mom, she does not have divided loyalties unlike the other two candidates for this race.
While we would have liked to see her raise more than $1,685 this election cycle for mailers to Republican primary voters and phone banking, there’s also a refreshing lack of well-heeled, big-money real estate interests polluting her C/OH forms on the City Secretary’s web page.
But the big selling point for us is her strong, biblical worldview and willingness to boldly tell it like it is. Check out this interview with Jonathan Schober from her city council run last cycle. Money quotes include
Well, they liked to go ahead and say that when we’re speaking the truth about a situation, they call truth divisiveness. Truth is now the enemy. You cannot go ahead and you cannot speak the truth without somebody telling you that you’re being divisive. When did we become so weak and feeble that telling the truth became such a controversy?
The truth is offensive these days just like the Gospel is an offense. Thank God there is a candidate in this race who can who prefers hard truths to comforting lies.
Our mayor is the president of a lobbyist firm for commercial builders. He is fighting tooth and nail not to have myself and Dorian and Colin Klein win because then his money train ends with us. And that’s not what he wants. He wants a whole bunch of yes men to support him and no more. Because the people of Cedar Park are suffering for it.
The “yes men” she refers to here are the GOP Groomers on the Council, Eric Boyce and Mel Kirkland. They are the type of GOP Establishment types who did not lift a finger to defend our local businesses and bodily autonomy during Covid Facism nor speak up with the most preposterous lies were paraded around by the Mayor and the local, public health papacy. They also regularly practice the dishonest framing of “lowering the tax rate” when everyone knows that property appraisals and property taxes are going through the roof. Such fellows insidiously groom you to limit your civic participation to “watching FoxNews/voting Republican/owning the libs on Twitter” and slowly accept Prog premises of government, culture and reality.
[Schober:] And what I want to ask you now is, Claudia, what is it that keeps you up at night?
[Chavez:]
The spirit of fear that has overcome this nation and my city and the state of Texas. We were commanded not to fear. It says that over 365 times in the Bible, “Do not hold a spirit of fear.” And the spirit of fear which stops people from taking a stand, a bold stand, and fear of losing your Facebook page, and fear of losing your job. Well, we were commanded not to fear. So that’s what keeps me up at night, is this fear that has overcome our nation in our take to… afraid to take a stand because they don’t want confrontation. Well, we were supposed to be bold. We’re supposed to be able to stand boldly and stand for our children. And if we lose our nation because of the spirit of fear, God helps us. (Emphasis added)
When was the last time you heard a political candidate reference 2 Timothy 1:7: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” In running for office against the well-oiled, local Progressive machine and the surrender caucus of the GOP, Ms. Chavez is modeling boldness and a willingness to fight for what is right. In the days of darkness to come, we need people in local office with the courage to practice the doctrine of the lesser magistrate against tyrannical state or federal overreach, maintain public safety in the face of Austin’s dystopian slide and keep men out of women’s restrooms.
Other Wilco Races
We would have liked to do similar write ups for all Wilco races as we’ve done for other, Cedar Park Mayor candidates, but there’s only so much time to analyze campaign finance reports and do hacky, Photoshop jobs. The Wilco Chapter of the True Texas Project, however, has invested some time in researching and recommending candidates in Wilco elections. As always, please do your own homework and come to your own conclusions

Constitutional Amendments and Bond Elections
These are easy:
“Yes” on constitutional amendments: They will help reduce property taxes in certain cases, though more needs to be done.
“No” on all municipal bond elections: They already get too much with our money and do too little.
