“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” Matthew 7:15-19
It’s always great to see your county GOP get owned by a stealth Democrat running as a “Republican”.
The always informative and entertaining Current Revolt recently reported on the Williamson County GOP’s rubber stamping of a proven Democrat running for local, elected office as a Republican. Read all about it here: SALAHUDDIN: DEMOCRAT DONOR AND VOTER, SUDDENLY GOP CANDIDATE — Current Revolt (Note: I particularly find the pictures of Wilco GOP chair Steve Armbruster in this piece particularly amusing).
Of course, we are all for those on the other side “seeing the light” and coming to accept our view. But, as the Current Revolt story notes, shouldn’t there also be some tangible evidence of sustained life change before elevating such people to higher positions of authority and influence?
Mr. Salahuddin’s policy positions are rather non-descript and could easily sound like a Democrat’s, save for his one, vague reference to being against “defunding the police”. He is running in the state rep district 136 Republican Primary against Michelle Evans, a battle-tested, grassroots activist who is on the front lines of the fight against the godless corruption running rampant at Round Rock ISD. A quick comparison of Ms. Evans’ positions and record will reveal a much more thoughtful and proven candidate for this office.
If a humble blogger with little more than an internet connection and sufficient motivation can figure this out in 10 minutes of web searching, why can’t the Wilco GOP?
